Classes for Contractors

If you are working as a contractor or sub-contractor at a Renown Health facility you may be required to take a class. The courses are for new contractors and sub-contractors and those needing a refresher course. Classes are scheduled on demand by calling 775-982-4419 or filling out the registration form below. The classes are:

Work Standards

This course is required for all contractors working more than 40 hours in one calendar year anywhere within the Renown Health Network. The class is designed to cover the general safety concerns of the hospital and addresses basic infection control practices, fire safety, hazards and general safety requirements. The class consists of 3.5 hours of classroom time and participants are required to take and pass a competency test.

Work Standards On-line Short Course

This course is required for all contractors and sub-contractors working within the Renown Health Network. Completion of this course is required for all personnel prior to issuing a non-employee badge. This class is designed to cover the most common safety concerns of the hospital and health network. Please follow the links below to review the materials and take the test.

Work Standards Refresher

This class reviews the basic concepts outlined in the Work Standards class. It consists of 2 hours of classroom time. Anyone who completed the Work Standards class may be required to take this refresher annually.

Note: As attendance in the Work Standards class is required prior to working at Renown, the time spent in this class is not billable. All classes are held at 859 2nd St. in the upstairs conference room unless otherwise specified.
